Connect your Washington County Public Library card to the Hennepin County Library system online

The Washington County Library system allows you to check out books in person as well as ebooks, audiobooks, and magazines online. You can get a Washington County Library card by filling out this online form. Make sure you include a personal (not school) email at the bottom of the form.

You can get access to even more digital items by linking your library card to the Hennepin County Library system. Here’s how:

    1. Have your Washington County Library card (or at least the number) handy.
    2. Go to https://hclib.org/contact#ask-us.
    3. If it is during one of the windows below, use the chat to request to link your card.
      1. Monday-Thursday 9 a.m. – 9 p.m.
      2. Friday-Saturday 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
      3. Sunday noon – 5 p.m.

5 STEPS

1. The first step is to open https://hclib.org/contact#ask-us

2. Scroll down and click Name box, then type in your first and last name

3. Type in your PERSONAL (not school) Email address

4. Scroll down and in the Your question box, type:Hello! I would like to connect my Washington County Library Card with the Hennepin County Library System. My WashCo library card is [type in the number for your library card]. Thank you!

5. Click Start chat, then answer any questions the librarian in the chat asks to help you link your card.
